The Demon-People Are Multiplying

For half a century or so now, there has been no such thing as evil in the West. Absolute moral relativism (yes, pun intended) has been de rigeur amongst our educated class, and hence amongst our ignorant classes also. The closest thing to evil in the postmodern mind has been intolerance towards leftism’s cultural vandalism, although this is usually treated more as a repugnant mental defect rather than evil per se.

The mass delusion that evil does not exist has created the perfect habitat for evil to thrive. This is because delusion is the road to evil. More on this below.… Read the rest

Ideologies Create Phonies

Why do so many things seem phony these days? In the public sphere as well as in our own private lives, there is a clear absence of authenticity and connection to reality. It is not accidental.

The secular faiths of this modern era –  liberalism and socialism in all their various denominations – have created societies where life is inauthentic, alienated, disconnected. These ideologies are religions of the intellect – they are rooted not in an experience of the transcendent divine but in logical fallacies and empty reason. We moderners have put our faith in reason, and as a result we are all Cartesians now: cogitamus ergo sumus.… Read the rest

Socialists Have No Virtue

It should come as no surprise that a feminist hits women:

Justin Trudeau’s elbowing incident leaves House in an uproar

Ideologies are tools that careerists use to gain wealth and power. Marx despised the working classes, Mao murdered millions of peasants and the Trudeaus and Obamas of our generation care nothing for queers, blacks, cripples and women. As this age of ideologies comes to an end and reality reasserts itself violently, we can expect to see the hypocrisy of ideologues revealed more clearly.

When we see Trudeau’s bloated corpse hanging from a lamppost put there by a hungry mob, the headline may read:

‘Because it’s 2020.’… Read the rest

Marxism Is Satanic I

In school you were probably indoctrinated with one or both of two historiologies: the accidental and the progressivist theory of history. Both require great leaps of faith. The accidental theory of how history operates is premised upon scientific materialism, if it is premised upon anything at all. Proteins and amino acids bumped together in puddles until they made DNA then one day, poof! The Holy Roman Empire. It’s always struck me how much doublethink is required for such an outlandish philosophy of how history operates, and the low value this belief system places on human life. According to this faith, you’re a well-behaved monkey.… Read the rest

You Have No Rights

Modern man has many delusions, some more pernicious than others. Surely one of the foggiest and most dangerous beliefs that pertain in our wretched age is that foundational doctrine of liberalism: that men have rights.

This dogmatic belief is so widely held and so rarely noticed that its consequences are invisible to most. They are everywhere, though. We see it in the entitled mentality of aggrieved minorities, who demand that statues of old ‘racists’ be removed from universities. The noisy brownish brats clamouring for such historical revisionism would be shocked, shocked at the charge that they are just asserting another form of ethnic supremacy.… Read the rest

Love is not a Feeling

We are a civilisation which lives by feelings. It’s built into the zeitgeist. It’s also the greatest cause of suffering in the world.

OK, that’s a big call. If you’re a slave in Kim Jong-un’s harem, living by feelings is probably not the most unpleasant thing you experience. You probably try to avoid feeling anything at all.

Perhaps at school your history teachers took a break from bashing up on crackers and mentioned the Renaissance. If so, you no doubt received the Party Line about it – that the rebirth of classical Graeco-Roman culture was an unadulterated good, breaking open the fusty hidebound traditionalism of medieval Europe and birthing glorious modernity with its glorious revolutions.… Read the rest

What is Culture?

If you asked a typical 21st century serf what they think culture is, they’ll probably say something about the characteristics that make up a people (not so succinctly and with fewer syllables, and they might need to Google. But that will be the gist). If a crowd of proles overheard, they would probably agree, while maybe adding something about spicy food.

They’re wrong. Culture is not identity. It is not cuisine, language, fashion or which side of the road you drive on. It has much more to do with whether you have roads at all.

Our word culture comes (circuitously, as always) from the Latin cultura meaning cultivation or agriculture.… Read the rest
